Dr. Atique Mirza


Dr. Atique A. Mirza is a consultant cardiologist at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford Connecticut. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is the founding president of the Allama Iqbal Medical College Alumni Association of North America and the founding President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani decsent of North America. Besides being a board member of the Asian Pacific American Coalition (APAC), he also currently serves as the Treasurer of the Association of Pakistani Cardiologists of North America (APCNA) and is a Board member of the USPAK foundation.

He completed his pre-medical education at Government College Lahore and graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, Pakistan, before moving to the USA in 1990. Currently, he is a partner at Central Connecticut Cardiologists, LLC. He is actively involved in teaching at UCONN School of Medicine’s cardiovascular medicine fellowship program as a Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr. Mirza is a community activist, who has been involved in increasing the recognition of health & social issues faced by Asian Americans at local and national level. He serves as a board member of the Asian Pacific American Coalition where he is involved in increasing awareness of health issues and health disparities faced by our community. After having resided in several states, Dr. Mirza has made Connecticut his home since 2003 and resides here with his wife and three beautiful children.
