Mohammad Suleman MD


Mohammad Suleman MD grew up in Sahiwal, Pakistan. After graduating from King Edward Medical College in 1972 he migrated to the USA and underwent training as a general and vascular surgeon at King County Hospital Brooklyn, NY and New York Medical College. In 1981, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to practice general and vascular surgery.

He has been an active member of the American Medical Association since 1972 and a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Jefferson Parish Medical Society (JPMS). He has served on the executive committee of JPMS for five years as Treasurer, Secretary and then President. He has also served as the president of medical staff at Kenner Regional Medical Center and been on the hospital board. He is presently the Medical Director of Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Center and serving on the State Board of Nurse Examiners and the State Board of Pharmacy and Therapeutics.

He was instrumental in forming the local chapter of APPNA and served in several offices, including that of President in 2002. Furthermore, he has been an active member of PAKPAC since its inception and served as the President Elect in 2007-2008 and then President in 2009-2010.

Dr. Suleman is actively involved with the local community and in building a mosque and an Islamic school for the Muslim community. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jefferson Muslim Association. He believes in the power of organization and working together to bring change.
